We offer financial support to some students via our Early Bird Discount, the Navitas Family bursary and the Navitas Academic Merit Award.

Scholarships, Bursaries and Discounts for New Students

Early Bird Discount

Value

The discount is £500 and is deducted from your second semester fees, or credited to your account which you can request to be transferred towards your University of Hertfordshire fees

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The Early Bird Discount is available to students who have received an offer of admission to Hertfordshire International College (HIC).
  • To be eligible for the Early Bird Discount, all conditions stated in the offer letter must be met before the published early bird discount deadline.
  • The Early Bird Discount is non-transferable and can only be used by the student to whom it was originally awarded.
  • This discount is available against the published fee, if the deposit, alongside the acceptance form is returned before the published early bird discount deadline

Restrictions and Exemptions:

  • This Early Bird Discount is only applicable for the intake and pathway specified in your offer letter.
  • This discount cannot be combined with any other scholarships, discounts, or promotional offers provided by Hertfordshire International College.

General Terms:

  • The Early Bird Discount is subject to the availability of funds and may be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Hertfordshire International College reserves the right to modify or terminate the Early Bird Discount at any time, without prior notice.
  • The Early Bird Discount is non-transferable, non-negotiable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other benefits.
  • The Early Bird Discount recipient must maintain satisfactory academic progress and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by Hertfordshire International College throughout their course of study.
  • Hertfordshire International College may request additional documentation or information from the Early Bird Discount recipient for verification purposes.
  • The decision of Hertfordshire International College regarding the awarding and continuation of the Early Bird Discount is final and binding.
  • Hertfordshire International College reserves the right to revoke the Early Bird Discount if the recipient is found to have provided false information or is in violation of any HIC policies.
  • By accepting the Early Bird Discount, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the terms and conditions stated

Navitas Family Bursary

Value

The bursary is equivalent to 10% of the tuition fee for up to 8 units of study within one program only with a Navitas member institution. The bursary does not apply to additional units or repeat units that may also be undertaken and excludes mixed English options.

Eligibility

  • Family Bursary applies where two or more students from the same family study at a Navitas institution.
  • The first family member can be studying at a Navitas institution at the same time as the other family members or may have studied at any Navitas institution previously.
  • The family bursary is granted to the second and subsequent family members who study at a Navitas institution.
  • Not have previously received a Navitas scholarship or bursary or had a scholarship or bursary from Navitas withdrawn.

Definitions

For the purpose of this bursary, a family member is defined as a husband, wife, brother, sister, mother, father, son, daughter or stepchild.

Conditions

  • Successful recipients will not receive any money from the Navitas member institution. The value of the bursary will be recorded on the student’s account each semester of study.
  • The bursary does not apply to additional units or repeat units that may also be undertaken.
  • Navitas bursary is not applicable to English language programme, or any component of any English language program offered by Navitas member institutions.
  • Navitas member institutions

The Navitas bursary applies to students studying at BCUIC, Curtin College, Curtin Singapore, CRIC, Deakin College, EIBT, EIC, Eynesbury, FIC, Griffith College, HIC, ICM, ICP, ICRGU, ICWS, La Trobe Melbourne, La Trobe University Sydney Campus, LBIC, NIC, PUIC, PIBT, SAIBT, SIBT, Navitas at FAU, Navitas at UMass Boston, Navitas at UMass Dartmouth, Navitas at UMass Lowell, Navitas at UNH, UC College, UCIC, UNIC, Western Sydney University International College, and Western Sydney University – Sydney City Campus.

Application instructions

A completed application must be submitted to the Navitas institution together with supporting documents, such as birth certificate, or family card. Application form can be obtained from the Navitas institution where the student has enrolled.

Regional Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The partial scholarship is available to students who have received an offer of admission to Hertfordshire International College (HIC) for their respective intake
  • This scholarship is discretionary, and will be awarded to select students at the consideration of the Recruitment Team
  • To be eligible for the partial scholarship, all conditions stated in the offer letter must be met before enrolment.
  • The scholarship is non-transferable and can only be used by the student to whom it was originally awarded.
  • This discount is available against the published fee, if the deposit is paid by 30th November 2023.

Restrictions and Exemptions:

  • This scholarship is only applicable for the Specified intake for the pathway specified in your offer letter.
  • This discount cannot be combined with any other scholarships, discounts, or promotional offers provided by Hertfordshire International College.

General Terms:

  • The partial scholarship is subject to the availability of funds and may be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Hertfordshire International College reserves the right to modify or terminate the partial scholarship program at any time, without prior notice.
  • The partial scholarship is non-transferable, non-negotiable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other benefits.
  • The scholarship recipient must maintain satisfactory academic progress and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by Hertfordshire International College throughout their course of study.
  • Hertfordshire International College may request additional documentation or information from the scholarship recipient for verification purposes.
  • The decision of Hertfordshire International College regarding the awarding and continuation of the partial scholarship is final and binding.
  • Hertfordshire International College reserves the right to revoke the partial scholarship if the recipient is found to have provided false information or is in violation of any HIC policies.
  • By accepting the partial scholarship, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the terms and conditions stated above.

Visa Waiver Scheme

The Scholarship: Under the Visa Waiver Scheme, Hertfordshire International College (HIC) will reimburse the standard visa application fee for eligible students.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The Visa Waiver Scheme Scholarship is available to students who complete their enrollment at Hertfordshire International College (HIC) for the specified intake.
  • Eligible students must come from the following regions: GCNA, SEA, and the UK International.
  • Students must provide proof of payment for a standard visa application for the relevant region.

Reimbursement Conditions:

  • HIC will reimburse the standard visa application fee upon successful completion of the enrollment process at Hertfordshire International College.
  • Reimbursement will be provided in the form of a credit applied to the student’s HIC account, which can be used against the second payment required to HIC, or transferred to the University Post-Progression

Offer Exclusions:

  • The Visa Waiver Scheme Scholarship is only applicable to students from the specified regions (GCNA, SEA, and UK International) who complete their enrollment for the specified intake.
  • Students must pay before the deadline as determined by the Regional Recruitment Manager. To obtain the date payment must be made by please reach out to ask@hic.herts.ac.uk
  • This scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarships, discounts, or promotional offers provided by Hertfordshire International College.

Engagement Incentive

The Award: Under the Engagement Incentive Award, Hertfordshire International College (HIC) will randomly select students who attend our conversion and pre-departure webinars and events to win shopping vouchers.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The Engagement Incentive Award is open to all students who attend webinars and events hosted by Hertfordshire International College.
  • Participation in webinars and events automatically enters students into the random selection process for the scholarship.

Selection Process:

  • Recipients of the Engagement Incentive Award will be randomly selected from the pool of attendees at Hertfordshire International College webinars and events.
  • Winners will be chosen at random by HIC and notified via email or other communication channels provided by the student.

Prize Details:

  • Winners of the Engagement Incentive Award will receive shopping vouchers as the prize.
  • The value and type of shopping vouchers may vary and will be determined by Hertfordshire International College.

Offer Exclusions:

  • This award is only applicable to students who attend webinars and events hosted by Hertfordshire International College.
  • Students must attend the entire duration of the webinar or event to be eligible for the award.
  • Students must complete enrolment for the specified intake to be eligible for the award.

General Terms and Conditions:

  • The Engagement Incentive Scholarship is subject to availability and may be awarded at the discretion of Hertfordshire International College.
  • Hertfordshire International College reserves the right to modify or terminate the Engagement Incentive program at any time, without prior notice.
  • The scholarship prize is non-transferable, non-negotiable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other benefits.
  • Scholarship recipients must abide by the rules and regulations set forth by Hertfordshire International College.
  • The decision of Hertfordshire International College regarding the awarding of the Engagement Incentive Scholarship is final and binding.
  • Hertfordshire International College reserves the right to revoke the award if the recipient is found to have violated any HIC policies or provided false information.
  • By participating in HIC webinars and events, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the terms and conditions stated above.

Scholarships, Bursaries and Discounts for Current Students

Navitas Academic Merit Award

The Navitas Academic Merit Scholarship will be awarded each semester to some of the most outstanding results from across all programs at a Navitas Pathway College or Managed Campus.

Value

The scholarships are between £50-250 in Amazon gift vouchers. Any additional costs, including postage or shipping charged by Amazon will need to be covered in the value of the voucher.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be continuing (current) student, enrolled and studying towards a Navitas Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree (Australia), UTP Stage II or Associate Degree (Canada), UPP or IUTP (USA), Undergraduate pathway program (UK), University Foundation or Bachelor Degree program (Australia) or Master’s programs (Australia);
  • Be currently studying full-time;
  • Have achieved competencies in all courses across their current program (for which the scholarship is applied for) in the semester prior to being eligible for the scholarship;
  • Not have any outstanding fees on their student account;
  • Not have previously received a Navitas scholarship or bursary or had a scholarship or bursary from Navitas withdrawn.

Conditions

  • Successful recipients will not receive any money from the Navitas member institution. The value of the scholarship will be awarded as a gift voucher which can be redeemed from www.amazon.com.
  • Scholarships may not be applied against a student’s tuition fees.
  • Scholarships are not transferable to other students or Navitas member institutes in any circumstances.
  • Navitas member institutions reserves the right not to award all or some of the scholarships in a given year.
  • Scholarships cannot be backdated.
  • Commencement Date
  • Up to six scholarships are awarded each semester.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on:

  • Academic results (GPA) from their previous semester of study. Should two students have identical academic results, the scholarship panel will refer back to marks awarded within each subjects/course to ascertain the scholarship recipient.
  • Additional factors such as educational disadvantage, member of specific equity group and/or significantly adverse personal circumstances may be considered where the scholarship panel must differentiate between equally qualified applicants.
  • Outcome of scheduled interview (if required)

Notification of results

The scholarship panel from each Navitas member institution will announce the recipients of the Navitas academic merit scholarship upon the completion of each semester and the release of the results. The recipients will be notified by mail and the successful students posted on the college/campus website.

Navitas member institutions

The Navitas scholarship is offered to students studying at BCUIC, Curtin College, Curtin University Sydney, Curtin Singapore, CRIC, EIBT, EIC, Eynesbury, FIC, HIC, ICM, ICP, ICRGU, ICWS, La Trobe University Sydney Campus, La Trobe Melbourne, LBIC, Macquarie City Campus, MIBT, MIBT Indonesia, PUIC, PIBT, QIBT, SAIBT, SIBT, Navitas at FAU, Navitas at UMass Boston, Navitas at UMass Dartmouth, Navitas at UMass Lowell, Navitas at WKU and Navitas at UNH only.

Application instructions

Students are not required to apply for the scholarship as it is awarded based on academic performance and ALL students are eligible.

Short Term Assistance Grant

If you are a current University of Hertfordshire student struggling to cover essential, day-to-day living expenses, then you may be eligible for the Short-Term Assistance Grant (STAG). STAG offers discretionary short-term financial assistance for both Overseas and Home students struggling with the rising cost of living. Successful applicants will receive a non-repayable financial award of £250.

We will require the latest, one-month (30 days) bank statement from all bank accounts held in your name.

Eligibility

To be considered for the fund you must be:

  • studying at the University of Hertfordshire;
  • studying in higher education (Level 4 or above) at Hertford Regional College, North Hertfordshire College, Oaklands College, West Hertfordshire College and Southgate College; or
  • studying in higher education at other UK Partner Institutions not listed above.

STAG fund is accessible to students with no recourse to public funding. Your eligibility is not restricted if you meet the STAG eligibility criteria.
